Read at home: read to page 120 of the Summer of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls.  If you want to read faster you can finish this book.  We will pay Vanbucks for "Mom approved" books you start and finish after you have finished Summer of the Monkeys.  If you want to get paid you will need to bring the book to class:)

Poetry: Recite all of the poems learned so far.  3 weeks until the Poetry Bee. Memorize the second stanza of "Don't Quit":

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

 

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

Leadership: Find a person you would like to learn more about.  Read a book about them. Find more out about them on the internet.

Come to class ready to present about them. Dress like them. Show us about their life and what they did.  Why did you pick them? Be creative and fun in showing us who this person is and what they have accomplished. HAVE FUN!

Class Time:  Depending on the weather, we may go birding.  Please bring binoculars and a jacket.  We will be spending time at the church and the Fontano home.

Passover:  We will be joining the Vanguard for a Passover meal.  Ask your sibling in Vanguard to explain to you what the Passover is.
