    Russian Revolution 
       The Russian Revolution took place in 1917 when the peasants and working class people            of Russia revolted against the government of Tsar Nicholas II. They were led by                       Vladimir Lenin and a group of revolutionaries called the Bolsheviks. The new communist                         government created the country of the Soviet Union.

       

      Communism 

      Communist system, individual people do not own land, factories, or machinery. Instead,          the government or the whole community owns these things. Everyone is supposed to                share the wealth that they create.

       Republic

        a form of government in which elected individuals represent the citizen body and
       exercise power according to the rule of law under a constitution.
