 Study and Learn:

I'm going to try something new this week!  All the chapters that were assigned for Vanguard were so interesting!  I want you guys to learn about this stuff, too!  There is so much information though, so I'm going to split it up!  I decided to just assign it, rather than letting you choose, because it's all awesome!

Abby, Kevin and Michael please read in Story of the World Vol. 3, Chapter 27.  Come prepared to teach us something about Steam and Coal and Cotton and Guns!

Anna and Tommy please read in Story of the World Vol. 3, Chapter 32 about Lewis and Clark and Chapter 36 about the Abolitionists.  Come prepared to teach us what you learned.

Evelyn, Alex and Lauren please read in Chapter 38 about the Trail of Tears and Chapter 40 about the Alamo.  Come prepared to teach us what you learned.

I'm going to teach about the Gold Rush!

I have some fun activities to do!  It will be more fun if everyone is prepared!

Hey Vanguard Jr.  I may or may not be coming on Thursday.  It's still undecided.  You can do this though, whether I come or not.

1. Learn about one person who was part of the Continental Congress, Constitutional Convention, Revolutionary War, or War 1812.

1. Bring Your Abacus to class!  We will work out some problems together.  You can also do this.

All Students: Watch this video, write down the problem on paper that she gives, and solve this problem with the video.  It will help your skillzzz immensely!

Beginner Abacus Students: 


Finish filling out out worksheet #4 from this PDF File.   It should be the other 1/2 the worksheet.

Here is the addition video, watch this video with your abacus in hand, and work the problems with her.

2. Learn 3 things about 1 of these people. (Not birth and death dates)

4.This may seem a little random, but watch this 2 minute video about Mt Kilimanjaro.  We will have a guest speaker coming who just got back from climbing it!
